The Axle Popper II, the air tool version of our popular Axle Popper, breaks loose half shafts from transaxle on front wheel drive vehicles.
The Axle Popper II is the air tool version of our original Axle Popper Fork (PN 71411). Like our original fork, the Axle Popper II is tapered on both ends of the wedge along with a 6” shaft to fit into the Technician’s air hammer. The base of the Axle Popper II has been increased by 3/8” to give it additional strength while decreasing potential deflection with the increased power of an air hammer.
Half Shafts are sometimes difficult to break loose with a pry bar. Safer than using a pry bar, the Axle Popper II has a wedge forked end which applies even pressure to both sides of the shaft for sure release of the shaft.
Our original Axle Popper Shim, which is sold separately, can also be used with the Axle Popper II to fill the gap between the half shaft and the transaxle on some vehicles. This is a valuable, time saving, tool for transmission shops, garages, tire shops and body shops.
